Lashery Co. is honoured to partner up with Surrey Urban Mission Society (SUMS).

SUMS is an organization located in Whalley that supports those in need by providing shelter, meals, and a place of refuge. SUMS’ mission is to be a bridge for Christ’s love, nurturing hope in our community.

The Director of SUMS shared that the most impactful way we can contribute towards their cause is to create ‘Care Packages’. They go a long way and are very much needed.

Many of you want to contribute and help those in need but may not know how to go about it nor have the time to put together care packages. This is where we come in.

Lashery Co. will be accepting donations to create the ‘Care Packages’. Our goal is to provide 50+ care packages per month to distribute to the community. Currently, they have 50-100 folks who come through the shelter regularly. It sounds like a high number but we like to aim high! If we don’t make 50 care packages, that’s ok! They will distribute the packages to those who need them most.

We plan on packaging the contents of the care packages in large zip lock bags so think travel size items.

Items needed:
Toothbrush
Toothpaste
Socks
Towelettes/wipes
Hand sanitizer
Shampoo
Soap
Comb/hair brush
Deodorant
Bottled water

We will also take cash donations. We understand time is not always in our favour, so let us help you out. 100% of your cash donations will go towards the care packages.

Planned schedule:

1st week of each month – Donation drop off at Lashery Co.

2nd week of each month – Lashery Co. friends and family organize items into packages

3rd week of each month – Drop off packages to SUMS for distribution
